OK, Pine Mountain... but who recalls the movie Escape to Witch Mountain?

The Marin fog we were expecting, to escape the heat, was not present.  In fact it was friggin' hot; all but a mile of this hike was in full sun.

Mt. Tamalpais State Park

Beautiful Mt. D and the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.

Bon Tempe Dam

Alpine Lake

Pine Mountain

Notice the mushroom shaped cloud just above the hills - must be where the thunder we were hearing was coming from.

Kent Lake

Found a small spot of shade for our egg break - standing room only however.

Uuhhh... it's so hot.

The only trail with shade - Little Carson Trail.

Top of the (dry) Carson Waterfall.

Azalea Hill Trail, Pine Mountain Road, Oat Hill Road, Little Carson Trail.
