Sunol Regional Wilderness

January 3, 2016
Sunol, CA
Hikers: Cathy, Laura, Noreen
Distance: 8 miles
Elevation Gain: 1927 ft.

We always see the most beautiful wildlife when we visit this park.

The road to Little Yosemite.

Debris caught on a branch, from when the creek is at a higher elevation.

This waterfall should really be flowing, after this week's expected rains.

Calaveras Dam

Hello there..

Closer-up of the Calaveras Dam (currently undergoing a replacement project).

Beautiful view from our snack spot.

The two pointed hills are Maguire Peaks.

Posted at Eagle View Trail.

Again, Calaveras Reservoir.

Odd place to find a spike stuck in the ground..

Lots of ground squirrels today.

This building (house, storage shed?) is built into the hill.

Notice the vent in the upper right of the photo.

Trails:
Camp Ohlone Road, (spur trail), Cerro Este Road, Cave Rocks Road, Eagle View Trail (not for the faint of heart), Vista Grande Road, High Valley Road, Hayfield Road, Indian Joe Nature Trail.
