Benicia Marina to Glen Cove

September 25, 2013
Solano County
Hikers: Cathy, Laura, Noreen
Distance: 14 miles

A fun day! A little walking, a little hiking, a little sip sipping. :)

I just love marinas..

 Plankin'!

We've been on the lookout for an owl for the longest time!

The Zampa Memorial Bridge aka Carquinez Bridge.

The lazy way to fish.. really? Where is the fun in that?

This gave us a chuckle. This being on a mailbox in historic Benicia.

Cutie patootie!

A windmill!

The view from our bench - break time!

Of course..

Things you don't want to see on a hike.

Why is it, that we take the trails that end in the middle of nowhere (or are just overgrown)?

Laura taking a picture of us, taking a picture of her!

So many sticker bushes in our pathway!!!

I didn't get the memo that we were to wear red.

Doesn't it look like our beloved Mt. Diablo is the protector of all?

A botanical garden..

So close, yet so very far. The bridge - our destination. Still three miles away. We're pooped. Next time.

C&H Sugar factory.

The botanical garden.

Long Island ice teas - hit the spot after a long walk.

 Trails:
Bay Area Ridge Trail, Benicia Bay Trail, and surface streets.
