 Remnants of an old chimney built in 19ll. The water reaches up about halfway when the lake is full.

 This piece of ice looks like a fish!

The Argonaut - a quaint little restaurant within the park.

Bridge crossing the South Fork American River.

 

 

Wah Hop Store - a Gold Rush-era Chinese store.

Replica of Sutter's Mill.

Native American bedrock mortar.

Seen on the side of the road - boots hanging from the posts.

Bridal Veil Falls on Hwy 50.

Notice the snow-capped Sierras in the background. 

 

No (man-made) waterfall today . . . 

Quite vocal this little birdie was. 

  There was logging going on in the park today.

Yep. The trail goes under the tree . . .  hope those branches hold up!

Trail blocked. Bummer! We had to backtrack and make our way up to the road.
