Elevation Gain: 1,372 ft. +

A really beautiful hike, aside from it being totally exposed fire roads the whole way. Definitely a hike you'll want to do while the weather is cool.

Can Mt. Diablo be anymore beautiful?!!

Looks like the squirrel is enjoying himself, basking in the sunshine.

Looks like a long walk to the dam, but really was a fairly short jaunt. This portion of the road is closed to vehicles, yet popular with cyclists.

Looking back toward the dam.

Ridgeline is Morgan Territory Regional Preserve.

Mt. Diablo in the background.

Not only were there three benches...

..but a bathroom at the top of the hill! Dang. I could have have had that extra cup of coffee.

Fiddleheads.

A rooster!

The sign reads "please close gates" - notice there are no fences attached.

We came across three of these signs on our route. Trails were closed due to the nesting of Golden Eagles.

Came across a couple of these as well.

Gas pipeline.

And we're back!

Yep. Did it again. Forgot to turn on the Garmin.

Trails:
Los Vaqueros Trail, Vista Grande Trail, Eagle Ridge Trail, Kit Fox Trail, Greasewood Trail, Grassland Trail, Walnut Trail.
